Due to the market expressing a need for an off-the-shelf DVI solution, Digital Light Innovations developed the DLi D2D, a fast and intuitive DVI interface developed specifically for the D4100 platform.
The D2D daughter card connects to the D4100 control board via the on-board EXP connections and provides plug and play functionality for streaming video to the DMD. The D2D is currently configured for 8 bit grayscale at 60Hz; however, in the future it will also support 10 bit grayscale and 24 bit color.
The DLi D2D is the ideal solution for anyone looking for a powerful, easy to use DVI interface for the D4100. The DLi D2D will be available soon- for more information or to be placed on the preorder list please consult a DLi Sales Rep at sales@DLinnovations.com

DLi Presents at Photonics West
Below is the abstract of the paper presented at the Emerging DMD-Based Systems and Applications track Photonics West 2009 by DLi’s David Smith.
Development of MOEMS technology in maskless lithography
David Smith, Dieter Klenk
Micro-opto-electro-mechanical-systems (MOEMS) have proven to be a facilitating technology in the lithography industry. Recently, there have been significant advancements in digital micromirror device (DMD) based maskless lithography. These advancements have been in the areas of throughput, resolution, accuracy, and cost reduction. This progression in digital micromirror evolution provides considerable opportunities to displace existing lithographic techniques. Precise control of the individual mircormirrors, including scrolling, and full utilization of the FPGA, have allowed DMD-based lithography systems to reach new levels of throughput and repeatability, while reducing production and warranty costs. Throughput levels have far surpassed scanning laser techniques. Chip level cooling technologies allow for higher incident power to be reliably distributed over larger areas of the substrate. Resolution roadmaps are in place to migrate from the current 2400dpi (11µm) to 4800dpi (5.3µm). Without the constraints of mask requirements, mask alignment, storage, and defect analysis are not required, thus increasing accuracy and reducing cost. This contribution will examine the advancements in and benefits of DMD based maskless lithography.

Welcome to the new DLi website. We have made many revisions in an effort to remain at the forefront of DLP® technology and to structure our site in a way that maximizes usability for the viewer. Innovation is the foundation of our business and we are consistently developing technology and processes to better service our clientele. The new website is just one of many exciting new things that we have in the pipeline for 2009.
In addition to the obvious aesthetic/structural differences to the website, we have also included several additions for new visitors interested in learning about DLP® technology and our current customers that want to expand their breadth of knowledge. The most important addition is the DLi Forum. The new DLi Forum will cover all topics ranging from products and accessories to questions regarding application and usage. As always, you are more then welcome to go to a DLi associate with a question; however, the forum will present an avenue to receive feedback from peers that may have dealt with a similar issue. We have also included a Design Services section that details the design, development, and programming work that DLi can provide to customers desiring a custom DLP solution. DLi has some of the best FPGA programmers on the planet and we have the resources in place to take any idea to proof of concept, production, and everything in-between.
Please look around the website and let us know what you think. Keep an eye on the News and Information section on the homepage- there are many exciting things on the horizon for DLP® technology, and Digital Light Innovations will be right in the middle of all of it.
