The DLP® Discovery™ 4100 is one of the highest resolution and fastest spatial light modulators available on the market. The D4100 offers up to full 1080p resolution via a 1920x1080 micro-mirror array. It runs on a 400MHz 2xLVDS (Low Voltage Differential Signal) DDR clock and delivers data transfer rates of up to 51.2Gb/s. The D4100 Controller Board includes the ultra high performance DDC4100 controller with a user programmable Application Xilinx Virtex 5 LX FPGA, memory, USB, EXP standard compatible I/O connector, and SODIMM connector for advanced DMD product development. The D4100 can be optimized for a wide variety of wavelengths including visible, UV, and NIR. Each D4100 kit includes phone support and access to DLP® Discovery™ KnowledgeBase.

The D4100 is available in three DMD sizes: 0.95", 0.7", and 0.55". The 64-bit 1080p model employs a 0.95" DMD with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and a frame rate of 24,690fps. Two XGA DMD models are also available. Both the 0.7" and 0.55" XGA DMD's employ 1024x768 mirror arrays and provide over 32,000fps with reliable data transfer rates of 25.6Gb/s. The DLP® Discovery™ 4100 Chip Set is also pre-configured to support a larger family of DMDs in the future.

The DLP® Discovery™ 4100 may be used as a platform to develop a proof of concept, serves as a reference design for a market ready product, and facilitates scientific experimentation that utilizes DLP® technology. To aid in proof of concept development and ease of use, Digital Light Innovations worked with TI to create Explorer Software V1.0, a software package that provides the fundamental tools to operate the D4100 immediately.

Complete documentation for all D4100 products is available to facilitate use of the control board and to provide a reference design for custom hardware development.
